VINCENT KOMPANY has boosted the fighting spirit of his Anderlecht side by getting former world boxing champ Joe Calzaghe to give them a lecture.
Welshman Calzaghe remained unbeaten in 46 professional bouts and has the record as the longest reigning super-middleweight world champion in the sport’s history.

And he was invited to speak to Anderlecht’s squad at their training base on Wednesday.
The Brussels giants are currently in fifth spot in the Belgian league and posted pictures of the event on Facebook and Instagram.
They wrote: “Undefeated World Champion. Boxing legend. Thanks for the inspiration, Joe Calzaghe.”
Anderlecht gifted the former fighter a mauve team shirt bearing his name and No46.
Calzaghe also posted images of himself with the two former Premier League stars.
He wrote: “Great to catch up with my old mate Craig Bellamy and Vincent Kompany.
“Great to chat with the players about dedication and mindset today. Also Vinny has signed me up!”

Belgium international Kompany, 34, left City last year to rejoin his boyhood club.
The rookie boss has since been eager to receive advice from experts in other sports beside football.
Calzaghe’s tips follow those provided by women’s volleyball coach Gert Vande Broek in October.
