FUMING Brits claim they are unable to gobble down their Christmas dinners because of “rotting” turkeys.

Many have taken to social media to share photos of their gross-looking birds.
And they claim they have been left with no Christmas dinner for their family as they blasted Sainsbury’s, Lidl, Tesco and Aldi.
One Lidl customer claimed his dinner was “ruined” after realising his £25 turkey had gone off despite a Boxing Day sell-by date.
He said: “Cheers @LidlGB. Bought this Turkey crown from Guisborough store 3 days ago, straight in the fridge, sell by date boxing day.
“Absolutely stinks, rotten meat. £24.18 for a ruined Christmas Dinner.”

Another posted pictures of their Sainsbury’s bird, which appeared to have a green tinge.
He fumed: “Thanks @sainsburys for the rancid, foul smelling, green turkey. Such a lovely way to end 2020.”
Another also hit out at Sainsbury’s, saying: “@sainsburys opened this to cook Xmas day has gone brown and smells awful!
“Xmas dinner without the turkey. Bad enough we are alone but now this. In date and kept in the fridge. Awful. Chicken fillets instead.”
While a woman claimed: “@sainsburys pics are vile! Sorry! absolutely gutted to find my turkey i brought from Sainsbury’s is off!
“It stinks it doesn’t go out of date until 26th,the day you delivered my shop had same date grapes which I let slide but no this is ridiculous so no turkey on Christmas”.

One user claimed their Tesco bird was “rotten and smelling” and “yellow” when they went to pop it in the oven.
They wrote: “Thanks @Tesco and 2020!!’ wrote an angry shopper.
“Rotten and Smelling Turkey means no Christmas Dinner for my family! #ChristmasRuined”.
While another said: “Hey Tesco just went to put my turkey in the oven and it’s actually rank rotten?
“Not been out the fridge since we bought it and best before the 26th. Sooooo good job we bought loadsa tatties I guess? Cause nae turkey for us today.”
One user blasted Aldi, saying: “Cheers 2020 gone off Turkey, tomorrow’s date. Vegetables only then.”

Tesco is now encouraging shoppers to return their turkeys to store for investigation.
A spokesperson said: “We have exceptionally high standards for our Christmas turkeys so we’re sorry to hear about these concerns.
“We’ve sold hundreds of thousands of great quality British turkeys this Christmas and will investigate these few incidents.”
An Aldi spokesperson said: “We are sorry that a small number of our products did not meet our usual high standards.
“Customers can return any Aldi product that they are not completely satisfied with to their nearest store for a full refund.”
