IRANIAN president Hassan Rouhani has claimed the assassination of a senior general in a targeted US drone strike put the nail in the coffin of Donald Trump’s ‘crazy’ regime.
President Rouhani revealed he believes Trumpism will be consigned to the “dustbin of history” when his leadership ends on January 20.

Iranian major general Qasem Soleimani, commander of the IRGC Quds Force, was assassinated in a targeted US drone strike on 3 January 2020 in Baghdad, which was approved by US President Trump.
As the first anniversary of the general’s death looms, outrage surrounding his death is being reignited.
A few days from now, the rule of this savage and crazy murderer will end

“One of the consequences of this shameless and foolish deed is the end of Trumpism,” said Rouhani.
“A few days from now, the rule of this savage and crazy murderer will end, and the whole history of his regime will go into the dustbin of history.”
“I’m confident that after Trump the situation concerning security and stability in the region will become significantly better,” the Iranan president added.
Praising General Soleimani as a “national hero” and a “source of pride for all nations in the region and the whole Muslim world,” Rouhani said that his death was “revenge” against Iran.
Up to a million Iranians took to the streets to mourn the military man’s death at the start of the year.

The president went on to say that the Daesh terror group was a “mercenary force for the US and Israel”.
He also noted that both Washington and Tel Aviv have benefited from and taken advantage “of turmoil and insecurity in the region.”
There are fears that Trump could strike Iran before he leaves office, as tensions between the countries reach boiling point.
Last week, the US president took to Twitter to issue a threat to Iran after the US embassy in Baghdad was targeted by rockets on December 20.
“Guess where they were from: IRAN. Now we hear chatter of additional attacks against Americans in Iraq,” the president wrote, alongside a photo of the three rockets.
“Some friendly health advice to Iran: If one American is killed, I will hold Iran responsible. Think it over.”
The outspoken remarks from Rouhani came in the wake of Iran vowing to avenge the killing of nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, who died in a bomb and gun attack near the capital Tehran.
