The FBI confirmed Little’s involvement in at least 50 murders, the largest number of proven cases for any serial killer in United States history.
His alleged killing spree ended around 2005.

Litter preyed on sex workers, drug users, poor and mostly Black women.
It wasn’t until 2018 when he began confessing his crimes to Texas Ranger James Holland, who was question Little about a killing, which was later determined he did not commit.

In September 2012, Little was arrested at a homeless shelter in Louisville, Kentucky, and extradited to California to face a narcotics charge.
However, authorities used DNA testing to establish that Little was involved in the murders of Carol Ilene Elford, killed in July 1987, Guadalupe Duarte Apodaca, killed in September 1987 and Audrey Nelson Everett killed in August 1989.
Little was extradited to Los Angeles, where the victims were killed, and was charged with the murders on January 7, 2013.
