Chris Kamara ‘admits’ to being the Grandfather Clock on The Masked Singer in awkward on-air slip up
FOOTIE pundit Chris Kamara has hinted he may be The Masked Singer’s Grandfather Clock.
Fans of the show took to social media over the weekend to claim the former footballer, 63, is behind the disguise.
And Chris did little to dispel rumours on while appearing on yesterday’s Steph’s Packed Lunch when discussion turned to Saturday’s episode of the hit ITV show.
Host Steph McGovern said: “I’ve got to ask you Kammy, are you the Grandfather Clock on The Masked Singer?”
Keeping tight lipped, Kammy responded: “It’s a great show.”
A picture showing the presenter next to the Grandfather Clock then flashed up onscreen and, with his iconic moustache and brown jumper, Kammy looked suspiciously like the masked figure.
Fellow guests Jacqui Smith and Russell Kane were quick to comment on the uncanny resemblance.
Comedian Russell joked: “Look at that, it’s like a spot the difference… they’ve not even changed the face.”
While former politician Jacqui added: “He’s got the same top on!”
Chris cheekily replied: “You’ve clocked it!”
Steph continued to try and tease information from the Sky Sports presenter about his possible new gig.
She said: “Obviously we don’t want to ruin the show but can you give us any hints? Have you got the time on you Kammy? It’s a story that really chimes with Kammy this one…”
With Chris smiling and not commenting, Steph closed the conversation by saying: “Oh you’ve got such a good poker face!”

Chris is the latest celeb to be linked with The Masked Singer UK, which only recently returned to screens for its second series.
So far, singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Spice Girls’ Mel B have been unmasked on the show.
Meanwhile stars including Joe Swash and Dynamo have also responded to commented they’re behind some of the other characters.
Steph’s Packed Lunch airs weekdays at 12.30pm on Channel 4.
