Bonnie Perdue, 71-year-old David’s wife, is a former school teacher who has been married to her lawmaker husband for more than 40 years.
The couple first met when they were in the first grade and they live in Glynn County, Georgia.
The couple are religious and attend Wesley United Methodist Church in St. Simons.

George Ervin “Sonny” Perdue III is an American veterinarian, businessman and politician serving as the 31st and current United States Secretary of Agriculture since 2017.
He is David Perdue’s cousin.
Sonny was the governor of Georgia from 2003 to 2011.
In his younger years, he served in the US air force before attending the University of Georgia and earning his degree in veterinary medicine.
As a member of the Georgia State Senate for eleven years, he eventually ascended to the position of President Pro Tempore as elected by his senate colleagues.
Sonny has been married to Mary Ruff Perdue for 45 years and has four adult children and fourteen grandchildren.
He and his wife have served as foster parents for eight children awaiting adoption.
