Couple ‘tried to hire a “hitman” to kill woman’s ex-husband and even gave him the shotgun to use’
A COUPLE from Oaklahoma are suspected of “trying to hire a ‘hitman’ to kill the woman’s ex-husband” and even supplied the shotgun to use.
Courtney Deatherage, 25, was arrested on January 22 when she and husband Dustin Deatherage, 26, met up with a family friend to discuss the deal, according to an Oaklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) report.

According to the report Courtney Deatherage had made the initial contact with the friend in Texas and they had agreed she would pay $250 up front and another $250 when the deed had been committed.
She also agreed to provide the gun that was to be used.
The friend then travelled to Oaklahoma from Texas on January 22 and the trio met in Courtney Deatherage’s vehicle.
Mrs Deatherage handed over a $100 down payment along with a 12-gauge shotgun that the couple had taken from the home of Dustin Deatherage’s grandpa.
Following the meeting, law enforcement officers made a traffic stop and arrested Courtney Deatherage.

She was taken to Latimer County Jail where she was put on a $100,000 bond and later bonded out.
Dustin Deatherage was arrested on Friday and also taken to Latimer County Jail and put on a $100,000 bond.
It is unclear if he has been bonded out.
