The truth is, I don’t love my fiancee. She is 59. I’ve only ever loved one woman: My late wife, who died from cancer five years ago.
I can’t call off the wedding now. My fiancee would be humiliated and her family would hate me.
If I died, my fiancee would be sad for a while but would get over me.
Only my son, who is 33, would miss me.
I want to tell him I love him, make sure my affairs are in order and that he is provided for, then end things.
I can’t see any other way out.
DEIDRE SAYS: However bad things might seem, please don’t take your own life.
Pulling out of the wedding will cause hurt but taking your life would devastate those who love you for the rest of their lives.
