Envoi Allen – the banker of the week – proved just that with a crushing fall early in the Marsh Novices’ Chase.
Jockey Jack Kennedy had a long walk back on his own after the fall[/caption]Sent off the red-hot 4-9 favourite and with accumulators riding on the ‘good-thing’ up and down the country, the previously unbeaten star fell at the fourth fence.
Trainer Henry De Bromhead had enjoyed a stellar week up until that point, but Envoi Allen’s first start since switching from Gordon Elliott ended in despair – and not just for the trainer.

Gutted jockey Jack Kennedy was forced to take the long walk in on his own. Thankfully for him, the 60,000 strong crowd were missing.
It left the race wide-open and it was Nicky Henderson’s Chantry House that made the most of the tumble.
Chantry House went on to win the race under Nico De Boinville[/caption]The 9-1 shot was Henderson’s 70th winner at the Festival.
De Bromhead said: ““Jack Kennedy just said he was a little bit keen and he just launched at the fence, unfortunately.
“That was that. I had a look at him and he looks fine, Jack’s fine too so that’s good.”
