Kate became a step-mum to Rio’s three children Lorenz, Tate and Tia after he tragically lost his wife to cancer in 2015. She is also a new mum to son Cree.
The former reality star has a very special bond with Tia, who now calls her mum.
Her brother Lorenz discussed her using the term in the family’s documentary last year.
He explained: “Tia she’s never really had a mum. Sometimes I used to think this as well, it’s gonna be weird not saying mum ever again.
“But then Tia in a way she didn’t really know mum, do you know what I mean?
“Calling her mum might be a natural thing.”
The family recently celebrated Kate’s first Mother’s Day with baby Cree.
Rio revealed that it was an emotionally charged day, which left Kate in tears.
He said: “If there is a situation that is, for example Mother’s day has just gone. My mother has passed away, the babies their mum passed away as well, so, and Kate is a new mum.
“There are so many dynamics in that house. The emotional kind of energy in the house on that day is through the roof. And so to manage that and to make it a day when everyone is happy and celebrating mother’s day is a task in itself.

“But talking to the kids. We had a conversation on Mother’s Day, my little boy, I said, ‘you don’t post anything on Mother’s Day do you?’ and he is not an emotional poster.
“He said: ‘I was thinking about doing it this Mother’s Day but I wasn’t sure what to do about Kate and mum’. And Kate started crying really, she was like, ‘Post what you feel, don’t worry about no one else. Just post what you feel.’”
