Supermarkets recall kids’ books, food and earbuds including Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury’s
MAJOR supermarkets including Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury’s have issues major recalls of products that could cause harm to shoppers.
Top items being recalled including kids’ books, ready meals, earbuds and even sandwiches.
Supermarkets have recalled several major products this week including happy meals and kids’ books[/caption]If you’ve bought an item that’s been recalled, you can return it to the retailer for a full refund.
Usually, you won’t need a receipt, but if you’ve still got one, it’s worth taking it along.
If you’ve eaten an recalled item and feel unwell, you should always seek medical attention immediately.

Hey Duggee Books
Two Hey Duggee books have been recalled in recent weeks due to fears that they could create a chozing hazard for kids.
The two books are:
- Hey Duggee – Duggee and the Dinosaurs
- Hey Duggee – Duggee and the Magical Unicorn
Ladybird Books has instigated an urgent product recall on these title due to the discovery of a manufacturing fault on some copies.
On the faulty books, the foil lamination on the cover of the book can be peeled off. Small parts of foil could be a choking hazard to small children.
The books are sold widely ins supermarkets including Asda, Sainsbury’s and Tesco.
Ladybird says you should take the books away from small children and return it to the retailer where you bought it for a refund.
You won’t need a receipt.
Kitsound Funk25 Wireless Earbuds
Kitsound Funk25 wireless earbuds are being recalled due a risk of the charging case overheating and causing burns.
The earbuds were sold from July 2020 to June 2021 in major supermarkets including Sainsbury’s and Tesco.
The manufacturer says that the overheating happens when the the case is attached to a power source which inputs more than five volts.
If you’re not sure which model you have, look for ‘KitSound/KSFUN25’
written inside the earbud recess in the charging case.
All batch codes and product colours are affected by the recall.
If you have bought the earbuds you should stop using them immediately and return them to the retailer you bought them from.
You will get a full refund and no receipt is required.
Alternatively, you can claim on the KitSound website but you’ll be given a £30 voucher rather than a cash refund if you take this route.
Sainsbury’s Hypoallergenic Recipe Complete Dry Cat
Sainsbury’s is voluntarily recalling all packs of by Sainsbury’s Hypoallergenic recipe complete dry cat food with chicken 1+ Years 800g and with salmon 1+ Years 800g.
The supermarket is supporting an investigation by the the food and veterinary authorities into a possible safety issue affecting cats.
Customers who have purchased these products should not use them and must instead return the item to their nearest store for a full refund.
Sainsbury’s Butternut Squash and Lentil lasagne
Sainsbury’s has recalled its Love Your Veg Butternut Squash & Lentil Lasagne with the expiry date July 17 as it contains meat and milk.
A packaging error means that this batch of products is actually Sainsbury’s Bolognese Melt which includes Milk, Pork and Beef.
Sainsbury’s is asking customers who have an allergy or an intolerance to Milk, or who do not eat Pork or Beef to return the lasagne to their nearest Sainsbury’s store, where they will receive a full refund.
While the expiry date passed last week, if you know you’ve bought these lasagnes recently, you should check your freezer to make sure you don’t have any of the affected batch.
Sainsbury’s says it is urgently investigating with its supplier to prevent this from happening again.
Science4you Space Exhibition set
Vivid Imaginations Ltd is recalling the Science4you Space Expedition set because the torch could be a hazard to young children if the battery cover isn’t put on correctly.
The affected batch code is: 0113299001.
The set is sold in major retailers including Tesco supermarkets. If you have one of the affected batch codes you should return it for a full refund.
Spar Chicken & Prawn Paella
Spar is recalling its Chicken & Prawn Paella 600g due to a packaging error.
This batch of the product is actually seafood risotto and may include Milk, Mollusc, Fish and Gluten which is not declared on the label.
That means the product could be a health risk for anyone with an allergy to fish, and/or molluscs, and/or an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, and/or to wheat (gluten).
The product being recalled has a best before date of October 2021 only, and comes in 600g packages.
Anyone who has purchased this item should return it to the store for a full refund. No other SPAR products or batch codes are affected.
