COPS probing the pool death of Stuart Lubbock at Michael Barrymore’s house have freed without charge a man they had arrested.
The 50-year-old suspect was held in March on suspicion of murder and indecent assault.
Stuart was found dead in the swimming pool of Barrymore’s mansion in Roydon, Essex, after meeting the star at a nightclub in 2001[/caption]The arrest came 20 years after Stuart, 31, died at a pool party at the now 69-year-old TV presenter’s mansion.
But Stuart’s dying dad Terry was yesterday told no charges would be brought.
Essex Police said the CPS had ruled there was insufficient evidence to be able to successfully prosecute.
Terry, 76, who is in the final stages of his cancer battle, has vowed to keep fighting.
He said: “While I feel powerless laying on my deathbed, I know my campaign seeking justice for my son Stuart must go on with or without me.”
Stuart was found dead in the swimming pool of Barrymore’s mansion in Roydon, Essex, after meeting the star at a nightclub in 2001.

Det Chief Insp Stephen Jennings said: “Essex Police has never given up on this case.
“All we want is to deliver justice for Mr Lubbock and his family.”
