Next week Harriet’s left thoughtful when PC Swirling tells her that the police are recruiting and that she should consider re-joining the force.
Harriet opens up to Dawn that she’s been feeling a lack of purpose in the wake of Malone’s murder.
But will she decide to ditch the dog collar for a new life in uniform?
Viewers have noticed the lack of Harriet since her breakdown at the beginning of the year when she locked herself in a cellar.
She was suffering from guilt after covering up the killing of corrupt cop DI Malone – a man she had had an affair with.
However since recovering she seems to have dropped off the face of the earth.
Harriet has even been replaced as vicar by Charles – despite their parishes being apparently merged.
But her disappearance has been called into question by viewers who have slammed the show for sidelining her.
One wrote: “#Emmerdale Would love to know where Harriet has gone.
“Since July we haven’t seen her on screen.
“It’s a shame @emmerdale not including her more with Dawn and Will and maybe more with Charles.”
