STRICTLY Come Dancing’s Adam Peaty has revealed how he kept calm over Katya Jones romance rumours following their “near kiss”.
The pair sparked a frenzy last month when viewers claimed that Adam almost snogged his pro partner at the end of their live performance – something which he has vehemently denied.
Adam is fiercely loved up with girlfriend Eiri Munro, who he shares two-year-old son George-Anderson with.
And the 26-year-old Olympian has now opened up about how he handled the furore – and was able to control his “rage”.
Discussing his career as a competitive swimmer, the hunk explained that he is able to “channel rage” as he shared: “It’s probably one of my greatest strengths in terms of performance because I think anger is a huge, huge emotion.
“It can be hugely wasteful, but if you channel it you can literally manipulate your adrenaline. I can use anger, the red mist, to enhance my performance.”
As a result, the online claims about his and Katya’s near-kiss didn’t make him angry “at all”, with the star adding to The Mirror: “Where would that anger be pointed? There’s nowhere to put it, because it’s not true.”
At the time, Adam issued a brief statement via Twitter, which warned: “Your comments have real life consequences.

Adam and Katya were eliminated from Strictly earlier this evening, but he is certain that they will remain close, sharing: “We will be friends for a long time after this I’m sure.”
The swimmer’s girlfriend Eiri, 23, shared her shock reaction to the snog claims just hours after it aired – taking to TikTok to share a funny video poking fun at the fan response.
The artist pretended to cry in the clip that began: “Watching your boyfriend almost kiss another woman live on TV”.

The crying intensifies as Eiri throws her head back, adding: “Finding out 10 million people also watched it live”.
She did not add a caption to the video, but when a fan commented: “He better be sleeping in the pool tonight”, she commented: “Looool” and a crying with laughter emoji.
Adam and Eiri met on Tinder at the start of 2020, and she was pregnant with their son just weeks later.
Meanwhile Russian beauty Katya was famously caught up in a Strictly storm when she was pictured kissing her celebrity partner Seann Walsh in 2018 behind her husband and his girlfriend’s back.
Ten months later she announced she’d split from Neil Jones.
