Not only are bouquets and plants perfect as a tablescape, they can also brighten up just about any space including a bedroom, living room or even a kitchen.
The most classic flowers associated with Christmas are:
Poinsettia: This gorgeous red petalled plant stems from the heart of Mexico and is a mascot of all things Christmas. Seen in many a holiday movie, as well as displays in shops and at events, they also come in white for a contrasting winter wonderland look.
Begonia: Begonia is native to moist subtropical and tropical climates. But the plants are also a firm favourite when it comes to adding that Christmas touch to a display and look lovely alone or mixed with complementary flowers.
Red roses: While roses are great all year round, red roses can really make a Christmas display. Alternatively, use white roses for double the Christmas fun and mix with other smaller flowers to contrast.
Red Hypericum: Hypericum is the ultimate merry berry. While they start off as tight buds they soon bloom into star-shaped flowers which look thoroughly festive.

How to arrange Christmas flowers
If you’re making your own Christmas display, there are a few simple tips to get you going which will keep your flowers fresh and looking lovely.
Firstly, cut the stems at a slant prior to putting in water. This will keep the longevity and allow appropriate water filter.
You’ll want to balance the bouquet so take two to four blooms that you want as the focal centrepiece and make sure you have an even amount. Place the sturdier stems in first. Make sure you have a mix of focal flowers and filler flowers to even out the display.
Then create a base of greenery with delicately contrasting flowers. This can be around the edges as well as in between the flowers. Always look at your bouquet from across the room to see how it looks from afar!
How to put flowers on a Christmas tree
Did you know that flowers don’t just need to go in a vase at Christmas? You can attach an abundance of beautiful blooms to your tree for that truly authentic festive look.
Not only that but the smell will be amazing and really impress your guests!
To do this you will need to purchase a set of water tubes, otherwise knowns as water picks, which will ensure that the flowers do not die. You can place one to two blooms in the water tubes and refill once per week.
Place the tubes evenly across the tree, filling in between with lights, ribbons or other decorations.
You can even create cascading swirls around the tree with flowers or dot throughout with other decorations. Festively fabulous all winter long.
