An insider exclusively told USWeekly that Kelly has no plans to back down revealing that “she is devoting 100 percent of any free time she has preparing for the trial.”
“When not filming her talk show, she is hunkered down with [attorney] Laura Wasser,” they added.
Clarkson filed for divorce in Los Angeles on June 4, 2020, citing “irreconcilable differences” – and the proceedings have been testy.
During the nasty split, the talk show host won custody of their two children, River Rose, seven, and Remington, five.
But the war raged on as there are still more details to iron out between the couple’s finances.
Kelly, however, will do whatever it takes to ensure that she keeps all of her earnings as a source explained: “She will not even entertain the idea of settling with Brandon.

“He will not get one penny from her that isn’t ordered by the judge. It’s going to be nasty.”
The Since You’ve Been Gone singer already has to shell out $150,000 per month in spousal support, along with around $45,000 a month for child support.
Brandon will be in charge of paying for the upkeep of their Montana ranch, which costs around $81,000 a month to run.
MAJOR SETBACK
The American Idol alum recently received a major victory in their case after she was granted the sole owner of their $10.4 million Montana ranch, as it fell under the prenup the exes shared.
However, she told the court in a virtual hearing on November 11 that Brandon had refused to vacate the property after allegedly arguing in court that he couldn’t afford to buy his own house.
The judge reportedly decided against having the music manager turned rancher Brandon evicted from the premises.
A source told the outlet: “Kelly recently had a major legal setback in a bid to get Brandon evicted from the Montana property that the judge awarded soley to her.
“He has been living in it and said he doesn’t have the financial means to afford to purchase a residence of his own at this time, citing the unresolved financial aspect of their divorce.”
The insider added: “The judge sided with Brandon and ruled in his favor, the order just hasn’t been formally signed off on.”
Kelly is the only title-holder of the ranch, which she bought in 2018.
Court documents exclusively obtained by The Sun show that Brandon has officially given up on showbiz life since their split to become a full-time rancher.
SHOCKING SPLIT
Kelly first met her ex-husband backstage at a rehearsal for the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2006.
The pair got engaged in December 2012 and married a year later at a luxury estate in Tennessee.
During the premiere of her talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show in 2020, the host admitted she “didn’t see” her divorce coming.
“2020 has been a dumpster fire,” the 39-year-old told her audience as she welcomed them to the show.
“2020 has brought a lot of change also to my personal life. Definitely didn’t see anything coming that came.
“But what I’m dealing with is hard because it involves more than just my heart. It involves a lot of little hearts.
“You know, we have four kids and divorce is never easy, and we’re both from divorced families, so we know the best thing here is to protect our children and their little hearts.”
NOT WORKING
A source revealed to ET that the pair decided to call it quits “after realizing the relationship hasn’t been working for a while.”
She told the Los Angeles Times that she didn’t have any immediate plans to discuss the reasons behind her divorce out of respect for her children.
She told them: “I am a very open person, but I’m not going to be able to be truly open about this in certain aspects because there are kids involved.”
“I think that I will navigate a way in which to be open and honest about it eventually, probably via the show, and it’ll probably, I’m assuming, happen organically when someone says something in conversation or something.”
Kelly added that she’s cautious since “there are a lot of little hearts involved.”
However, on August 19, 2021, a source revealed to Us Weekly that Clarkson “could no longer trust Brandon.”
“She could no longer trust Brandon, and she felt that Brandon was just using her for her money and lifestyle,” the source told the outlet.
“She had tremendous resentment toward him. She just wasn’t willing to look the other way anymore.”
