The female horse famously appeared in the fifth episode of the show’s fourth season, titled Pie-O-My.
According to her Twitter account, Goldee struggled with Equine Cushing’s disease.
“Pie O my (Goldee) Past away this morning after a 4 yr struggle with Equine Cushing’s disease. Goldee was 23 yrs old Goldee leaves behind hefavorite pony candy who is 33 yrs old,” the account tweeted over the weekend.
According to PetMD, Equine Cushing’s disease occurs when a pituitary adenoma tumor develops in the pituitary gland.
Pie-O-My is a Ralph Cifarette’s (Joe Pantoliano) profitable racehorse in the show. Still, when Tony Soprano’s (James Gandolfini) cut becomes too large and medical bills become a problem, it’s implied but never confirmed that Ralphie burned down her barn.
However, according to owner Kimberly Martin, Goldee was never a racehorse.

Martin explained to News 12 New Jersey that Goldee was a dressage horse before her glory days on The Sopranos.
The horse used for the racing scenes was a double; the owner said, “If you look at the video clip, and you’re a real ‘Sopranos‘ fan, the racehorse only has a white dot on its head.”
Pie-O-My’s Twitter account asked fans to donate to local animal shelters in her memory.
