Slowly letting go, Chesney bites the bullet and tells Joseph he is prepare to let him move in with Granny Linda in Portugal, later meeting up with the latter to give her his blessing.
Although he once claimed he would like to live with his grandmother, Joseph is inwardly gutted to leave.
But the dice has been rolled and, soon, Linda calls at No.5 again to explain she has to leave for Portugal that same night due to an emergency.
Joseph asserts he’ll be leaving with Linda, shocking Chesney and Gemma.
The family – Chesney, Gemma, Bernie, Fiz, Hope and Ruby – all wave Joseph and Linda off in their taxi.

However, Chesney gets a knife to the heart when Fiz urges Hope to tell him what Joseph said behind closed doors.
According to Joseph’s cousin (and real-life sister Isabella Flanagan), the boy never wanted to go to Portugal and only left because he felt his father and stepmother couldn’t afford to keep him alongside their quads.
Chesney comes to the realisation he has made the worst decision of his life by allowing Joseph to leave.
Panicked, Chesney and Gemma set off to the airport in an attempt to bring Joseph back home.
But will they manage to catch up with Joseph before it’s too late?
