But Canelo said UFC star Usman is just looking for a ‘pay day’, however the Mexican maintained he isn’t completely against the idea.
Canelo told MMA Hour: “Pay day, it’s a pay day, I know. Maybe, why not.
“My trainer told me about it but it’s not on my mind.”
Canelo, who faces Bivol for the Russian’s light heavyweight WBA title, said he wants to concentrate on his boxing legacy first before entertaining such fights.

He continued: “I want a really great legacy for my career, then we can talk about it”.
Usman is expected to return to the octagon in July to face Leon Edwards, after being out with a hand injury that required surgery.
Usman told DAZN: “It only makes sense because we’re in an era to where people want to be entertained.
“So, in order to entertain people, when have we in history ever seen the two pound-for-pound fighters in the world in combat sports at the top of their prime, when have we ever seen them compete? It never happened.
“In order for us to do that, this will be the greatest, the biggest event ever.
“The two pound-for-pound fighters in combat sports at the top of their prime to get in there and duke it out, I believe will be probably the biggest event ever.”

The fight with Canelo and Usman could be put back further as Alvarez has shown interest in a third fight with his long-time rival Gennady Golovkin.
Canelo beat Golovkin in September 2018 via a points decision in Las Vegas after their draw in the first fight a year before.
When asked if his rivalry with GGG is personal, Canelo told Chris Mannix: “Yes. He talks a lot of s**t.”
