Catherine Tyldesley says her husband Tom Pitfield doesn’t get jealous of sex scenes because she lets him watch[/caption] Catherine and Tom married in front of Coronation Street stars at Colshaw Hall in Cheshire in 2016[/caption]Cath, 38, who was last year seen romping in ITV thriller Viewpoint, is grateful to have a partner who is not jealous about her getting up close and personal with other men.
She said: “Most of my relationships before Tom, well in fact, all of them, ended because of my job.
“They didn’t get it, the jealousy. But Tom is so chilled.
“I remember the night before rehearsals for my sex scenes, and I said, ‘Babe, if I straddle like this, does my bum look really bad? Have I got cauliflower ass?’

“And he’d say, ‘A little bit like that babe’.”
Catherine insists having photographer Tom, 34, on set to watch her ‘seduce’ other actors has been a good thing.
She explained: “In lockdown we were filming these scenes and I was shaving my legs and Tom said, ‘Bloody hell, I’ve not seen shaved legs since week one!’
“He’s been there on set when I’ve had to snog other actors. But I think that’s good.

“Tom being there means he can see how clinical it is — and not remotely sexy.”
Catherine and Tom married in front of Corrie stars at Colshaw Hall in Cheshire in 2016, and the couple’s son Alfie turned seven yesterday.
The actress is expecting their second child, a girl, next month.
Tom has been busy looking after Alfie, as Catherine is suffering with sickness, exhaustion and a lack of sleep.
She told the Hot Mess Mums Club podcast: “He makes me cry, honest to God. I feel like Tom has more or less been solo parenting for months because I’ve found it so difficult.
“He gets up with Alfie and takes him to school most days because I just can’t function in the morning.
“Then, when Alfie gets home, nine times out of ten, Tom does his homework, Tom does the tea, Tom puts him to bed, so it’s been really difficult.
“And on the odd day that I have Alfie on my own I get the fear — I have to psych myself up for it and just pray to God that I’m having a good day.”
The former Strictly contestant said: “I said to my friend I would rather do Strictly seven times over. Tthis is more exhausting, and I never thought I’d say that.”
The discomfort from being heavily pregnant means Catherine struggles to get more than two or three hours sleep a night and has been forced to turn down sought-after acting roles for the first time in her career.
She revealed: “I hate admitting when I’m not physically up to something. I had to turn down an acting job down before Christmas, as a brilliant job, but very physical.
“I’ve never turned an acting job down in my life and it was quite an intense one, so I think I did the right thing but it’s hard to do that, I adore my job.”
The Manchester-born beauty also admits she is been feeling a lot of guilt lately, but knows she has to listen to her body.
The self-confessed “control freak” said: “I’m cursing myself every day because I feel like I’m not being a great mum to Alfie as I’m so tired all the time. And I feel guilty because I feel so genuinely blessed.
“I am so happy to be having this baby, she is so wanted, so when I moan I feel awful.
“There are thousands of people desperate for children so I don’t think I have a right to moan, but this is the hardest thing I’ve ever done.
“There’s been quite a few times in this pregnancy where I’ve gone, ‘no, I can’t do anything else today because I’m growing a human’.”
Catherine is excited for what their new addition will bring to the family, saying Alfie has already changed their lives “for the better”.
She said: “I hold my hands up, I’m probably quite a selfish person generally, but suddenly it’s not about me and I have to put this baby first, and that’s probably a good thing.
“It changed both Tom and I for the better.
‘Kids are a gift’
“Pre-Alfie we were both going to the gym, sitting in a spa, going on holiday when we wanted, which was lovely.
“But then this little person comes along and you just want to do everything with them.
“We just had a gorgeous weekend away on our own, a babymoon, and we spent the whole time going, ‘Oh I wish Alfie was here!’ It changes you.”
Catherine reveals she has regrets about returning to Coronation Street too quickly after giving birth to Alfie in 2015, fearing her character Eva Price could be written out of the ITV soap.
She said: “I probably did go back a little too soon when I had Alfie but you slowly get written out of storylines and I was conscious of that. They didn’t put pressure on me, I put pressure on myself.”
Catherine left the cobbles in 2018 after seven years and starred in BBC One sitcom Scarborough a year later. When the pandemic hit, the couple decided to try for another baby so Alfie would not be an only child.
She said: “We kept putting it off. But the pandemic made me reevaluate everything. I can’t wait to see Alfie with her. Last night he was laid across my stomach and she kicked him! He loved it.”
On finding out they are having a daughter, the star of Sky comedy Bloods said: “I’m a real girly girl so she’ll be head to toe in feather boas and pinkness.”
When their second child arrives, Catherine is determined to find a healthy balance between mother-hood and work.

She said: “Your family and your friends are everything. You’re not going to lie on your deathbed and think, ‘I wish I’d done a few more days’ work’.
“You want to be surrounded by love and all those memories. That, to me, is heaven.”
