Australia’s most popular ‘cleaning queen’ reveals how you can get your house smelling amazing in no time at all.
Chantel Mila, or @mama_mila_au as she’s known to her 1 million followers on Instagram, shared a clip showing three quick and easy methods to freshen up your house. And they all use things you’ll likely already have in the pantry.
The first method shared is placing coffee grounds, or beans in a heatproof bowl with a tea light. Chantel says: “The warmth of the candle will heat up the coffee and your whole house will smell incredible. As with any candle, never leave unattended.”
Chantel’s second tip is to clean your sink using baking soda and lemon. This can get rid of rust spots and clean any dirt, all while getting rid of any nasty smells coming from the sink itself.
The third method shared by the cleaning queen is to place 10 drops of essential oil into a 1/2 cup baking soda. Sprinkle this onto your carpets, and leave for one hour. Once the hour is up just vacuum the carpet and all odours will be removed.

She warns that before following the third tip you should be sure to check your vacuum’s manual to check if it can be used with fine particles – if not you will probably be better off following one of her other tips.
Chantel has also said that if you have pets you should skip using essential oils, as these can sometimes be toxic for them.
