TODAY show host Carson Daly gave an update about his marriage on Friday’s show after previously revealing he and his wife had a “sleep divorce.”
Carson, 48, told viewers about he was continuing the successful “sleep divorce” with his wife Siri, 41, a Today Food contributor, which reportedly first began when she was pregnant.

“It’s the best thing that ever happened to us. We both, admittedly, slept better apart.”
When Siri was pregnant with their fourth child, Goldie, in 2020, she and her husband found sleeping together in the same bed unbearable.
“We’re both pretty good-sized humans, and it just wasn’t really working when she was in her third trimester, and I also have sleep apnea, which is very sexy for the ladies out there, I’m sure,” Carson told People in 2020.

Carson wears a CPAP machine which he told People is “like sleeping next to Darth Vader.”
“We woke up and we just shook hands like, ‘I love you, but it’s time to sleep divorce. It’ll be the best thing for all of us,” he said.
Carson also mentioned their sleep divorce in a previous episode of the Today show: “We don’t want to sleep apart, but we have now, and I think secretly we’re both like, ‘This is kinda cool’ because you get command of the whole room.”
Two years later and they are still loving it.

Carson also decided it was best to sleep apart because of his work commitments.
The host had to get up at 3am to film the Today show and didn’t want to wake his wife and newborn by sleeping in the same room as them.
“I don’t know if we’ll ever sleep together again,’ Carson said at the time.
On occasion, they do sleep together and other times Carson will either sleep on the couch or in the guest room, he revealed.
This sleep divorce conservation was highlighting in the show while hots were talking about a Scandinavian sleep method where couples share the same bed, but different blankets.
Carson shared that “studies have actually found that sleeping with the same blanket can result in more interrupted sleep, as much as 30 percent.”
While hosts Hoda Kotb and Craig Melvin agreed with this method, Tom Llamas was “totally against” it.
“It is against everything about marriage and having a partner,” he said.
“It’s all about compromise and sharing. Also, how do you snuggle in bed?’
Carson jokingly replied: “How do you have a wife that wants to snuggle?”
He added, “This sounds like [it’s] really worth trying … because you have independence.”
When referring to his own situation in a previous episode of the Today show, Carson said, “Sleep is important, that’s an important part of this.”
