‘That’s not a Swedish accent’ – Scot dressed in Sweden colours surprises reporter with Scottish accent in hilarious vid
SCOTLAND and England have always had a rivalry in football.
When Gareth Southgate’s team is playing you can be rest assured that the majority of Tartan Army fans are supporting the team they’re up against.
But it’s not just the men’s side that experiences it.
England Women played tonight in their Euro’s semi-final clash against Sweden.
The Lionesses have yet to win a major trophy and supporters south of the border are confident they can pull it off on their home turf this year.
The 2022 Women’s Euros is being held in England and the hosts are one step closer to lifting the trophy after demolishing their opponents 4-0 this evening.
The visitors arrived in large numbers to cheer on their nation as they hoped to reach the final and face the winner of Germany vs France in the other semi-final.
But there was one man sporting the blue and yellow colours in Sheffield tonight who isn’t from the Scandanavian country.
A Sky Sports reporter was interviewing several Sweden fans in the city centre before the match kicked off.
And he was caught by surprise when he pulled the guy for a chat, only to realise that his accent sounded very familiar.

He was in fact Scottish and he’s following in the tradition of supporting any team who’s against the Auld Enemy.
After walking up to the Scot, the reporter asked: “Can I talk to you about the game tonight? What do you think, Sweden against England?”
And he replied in his strong accent: “I think it’ll be tough, a very tough match – I think Sweden will win 1-0 or 2-1.”
The journalist then said: “That’s not a Swedish accent?!”
After some hesitation, the fan laughed: “Ehh, naw, a little north of the border!
“But I couldn’t support England, could I?”
Meanwhile, former Scotland and Hearts star Christophe Berra has hung up his boots at the age of 37.
