EMMERDALE’s Mary Goskirk kisses Vanessa Woodfield as she opens up about coming out in an upcoming episode.
Rhona’s mother – played by actress Louise Jameson in the ITV soap – recently opened up to Kim Tate about the real reason she moved to the village.
Emmerdale’s Mary goes in to kiss Vanessa after opening up about her sexuality[/caption] Mary came out as gay to Kim Tate i[/caption]Mary told Kim: “I moved here for three reasons – to fix things with my daughter, to make a fresh start and to use that fresh start to be more open about myself.
“It turns out that despite my boldest intentions, some things aren’t easy to say. I’ve never spoken my truth.
“Oh God, I said my truth, I hate that. There is not such thing as my truth, there is only the truth.”
Kim asked her what that was and got a shock as she said: “I’m gay.”

She then added: “Oh my goodness. I’ve said it, it’s only taken me my whole life but I’ve actually said it.”
After telling Kim, Mary feels more confident in who she is, and in an upcoming episode, she chats to Vanessa – who is also gay.
The pair are dressed as puppies for Rhona’s hen party ahead of her marriage to Marlon.
As they sit chatting outside, Mary opens up about her sexuality to Vanessa but Mary mistakes her kindness for something else and leans in to kiss her.
