Mum of boy, 11, murdered by sick paedo demands he never be released

McKilligan, now 42, was 18 when, in June 1998, he snatched Wesley Neailey, 11, who was on a bike ride, before strangling the lad and dumping his body.
McKilligan claims he has reformed but Liz, 57, says he will always be a threat to kids.
She said: “He is dangerous. He should never get out. He doesn’t deserve a second chance.
“He’ll do it again and I don’t want another family to go through what we went through.

“If the death penalty had still been around he should’ve got it. Wesley’s death destroyed my family.”
McKilligan, who lived near Wesley’s home in Newcastle, had been convicted in 1994 for abusing boys aged seven to 11.
He claimed Wesley’s death was an accident but was convicted and locked up for at least 20 years in 1999.
A judge called him “a dangerous, manipulative, callous paedophile and killer”.

Det Supt Trevor Fordy, who nailed McKilligan, said: “He is a very convincing, wicked man.”
The Parole Board confirmed its refusal to release McKilligan.
It said: “Our decisions are solely focused on what risk a prisoner could represent to the public if released.”
