EastEnders confirms exact date for Shane Ritchie’s epic soap return as Alfie Moon

EASTENDERS has confirmed when Alfie Moon will return to Albert Square to crash his ex-wife Kat Slater’s wedding to Phil Mitchell.

After four years away from the BBC soap, Shane Richie will reprise his role as the cheeky Alfie this September.

He will be first seen on our screens on Monday 12th September turning up to Kat’s door – who is in her wedding dress – much to her surprise.

Alfie will go to extreme lengths to try and convince Kat to be with him and not marry Phil – but will Kat hear him out?

Meanwhile, Zack encourages Sharon to go for what she wants – which is Phil.

Will Alfie and Sharon get what they want? Or will Phil and Kat finally tie the knot?

Executive producer, Chris Clenshaw, said: “Shane Richie created one of the most iconic, loveable and most memorable characters in soap.

“To welcome him back to Walford is an absolute pleasure. A lot’s happened since Alfie’s been away from the Square.

“But wherever his floral shirts go you can expect fun, frolics and, of course, the odd porky-pie. We’re over the moon to have him home.”
