A FORMER Hooters girl revealed the strict uniform rules that all employees have to follow, including wearing a certain color of tights and a rigorous inspection.
Maddie Merwin is a professional hair stylist and makeup artist living in Memphis, Tennessee, who has nearly 7,000 followers on TikTok.
She creates a wide range of content but some of her most popular videos are her talking about the time she worked as a Hooters girl.
In one of her videos, she mentions the strict rules about the uniform that all Hooters girls have to follow.
“You do have to buy your own uniform,” Maddie said, adding that the uniform has to look “pristine” at all times.
“So if you spill anything on you during your shift, you have to change.”

Maddie explains that at the beginning of every shift, your uniform is going to be checked to “approve you” before you start working.
In the past, the Hooters uniform also consisted of a pair of socks that were a required part of the ensemble, but Maddie says employees no longer have to wear them.
However, Maddie says employees have to wear tights in the color “suntan or darker.”
Lastly, you’re not allowed to wear your uniform outside of work at all.

“And if you’re wearing your uniform to work, you have to cover it up completely so no one knows you’re wearing a Hooters uniform,” said Maddie.
“It’s just a safety reason but some of the girls used to change when they got to work in the bathroom. So, up to you.”
Aside from the strict uniform rules, Maddie shared some other tidbits about working in the restaurant, saying that it’s similar to other restaurant jobs except you have to interact with the customer more.
“And because of that, everyone leaves their number. Literally everyone,” Maddie joked, showing a picture of receipts she received during her time at the restaurant and customers leaving their numbers.
Maddie also explained that Hooters girls make “a lot of money.”
“Everyone tips extra because they’re trying to impress their Hooters girl.”
