THEY sell everything from fashion, accessories, shoes and homeware – but while they are known for their impressive range of products, Primark still manages to pull a few surprises out of the bag too.

And while many of us rely on the store to pick up the latest trends, there are other perhaps more under the radar items you can buy from Primark to make serious savings.

Here, Fabulous columnist and 40-year-old mum-of-two Gemma Bird – known as Money Mum to her 314k Instagram followers – shares the top items she recommends buying from Primark…

Style it out

Primark often cause a stir with their range of affordable ‘dupes’, and fans are always keen to get their hands on a cheaper version of their favourite designer items.

Whether it’s their Charlotte Tilbury makeup dupes or their version of the khaki quilted Frankie Shop coat saving £223, Primark know how to make luxury accessible.

However, shoppers are often surprised to discover they even offer a range of cheap hair styling tools, too.

Gemma says: “I was surprised to see hair straighteners in Primark, but they are a great budget buy and work just as well as the big brand names.”

A pair of ceramic straighteners can be picked up for as little as £12, while a smooth and sleek hairdryer will set you back £10.

Additionally, smaller items like hairbands are always worth picking up at the till too, costing £1 for a pack of 60 – cheaper than most supermarkets even.

Gemma says: “My daughter Bronte and I always need hairbands, so I buy loads.

Travel tricks

We all know Primark is good for stocking up on clothes before holiday, but you can also make savings on more practical purchases too.

Gemma says: “They often have the little plastic bottles for £1 to decant your products into for travel – much cheaper than supermarkets or shops such as Boots.

“I also got my daughter Bronte an Elsa Frozen suitcase for £15, and she loves it – a bargain.”

Great gifts

If you want to pick up gifts you know will look impressive, Primark’s range of collaborations with big brands are bound to go down well.

Gemma says: “Disney stuff always makes great Christmas gifts for kids, plus they tend to be a lot cheaper than anywhere else.

“Sometimes you go in, and there’s nothing you want; other times, it’s great.

“My tip would be to go in regularly if you can – that way, you find the best bargains.

“Also, the Christmas decorations in there are really reasonable – I bought my decorations from Primark last year.”

Get the glow

The nights may be getting darker now as winter draws in, but for those who still want to have a sun-kissed glow, Primark also stocks the St Moriz tanning range.

Priced from £4 for the instant wash off tan, the product range has been developed by salon professional experts.

Primark also exclusively stocks the St Moriz Get Glowing gift set, priced £9 – an affordable and ideal present or stocking filler.

Not only that, but the retailer has come up with a revolutionary solution to streaky tan marks on your bedding – a fake tan protector sheet.
