Antiques Roadshow viewers stunned by Floella Benjamin’s appearance – but can you spot why?
ANTIQUES Roadshow viewers have been left stunned by Floella Benjamin’s appearance on the show.
The 73-year-old presenter and politician appeared on Sunday’s episode of Antiques Roadshow, which was in honour of the BBC’s 100th anniversary.
Floella rose to fame on classic children’s TV show Play School in the late 1970s.
During a segment about kids TV on Sunday’s show, Floella brought in two of the toy characters that she had worked with on Play School.
As she spoke to expert Archer-Morgan about her experience and the two toys, viewers were taken aback by her ageless appearance.
One wrote on Twitter: “Floella Benjamin has barely aged a day since the days of Playschool! #antiquesroadshow.”

Another added: “Floella Benjamin has aged incredibly well and is still just as smiley as I remember her from childhood.”
A third tweeted: “Floella Benjamin is 73,” to which another replied: “But how????? She’s absolutely timeless, absolutely love her.”
Floella recalled how she wasn’t sure if she would land the role on Play School because of her braided and beaded hair at the time, but was thrilled when she was successful.
She spoke proudly of how the show “had children at the very heart” of it, before the pair moved on to the value of the two puppet toys.

One was called Jemima and the other Humpty, and they were valued at were valued at £1,000 and £2,000 respectively.
Since her time on Play School, which ended in 1988 after 24 years on screen, Floella has continued to work on TV as a presenter and actress.
She is also a well-known author and in 2010 she became a Baroness and was the first actress to become a peer in the House of Lords.
