Hannah, who posts under the acronym @hannahanderson.xo, took to TikTok and shared a video where she and partner Doug can be seen offering a step-by-step guide to laying the Peel and Stick Tiles they purchased from Homebase.
In the clip, she explains: “OK so firstly to start with, we found the middle of the bathroom floor by using a laser and we then made a straight line.
“We then began by sticking down whole tiles along that line, making sure that the pattern matches each of the tiles before peeling off the backing.
“We found sticking down the tiles was actually quite easy once you have your guides in place.”

“It really is just a case of dong it slowly so the pattern aligns the other tile.
Hannah goes on to say that to make sure everything was nice and even, she just measured the tiles from the wall.

“If they weren’t you could easily just take them back up and do it again,” she explains.
Next, Hannah offers advice on what she refers to as the “tricky bit,” which is working around your bath, sink and toilet – and recommends purchasing a ‘contour gauge.’

“So firstly, you want to check the tile you’re working with actually aligns with the tiles already stuck down,” she explains.
“You’ll then need to measure the gap and draw those measurements onto a new tile, which is really quite simple.
“Once done, grab your Stanley knife and cut the tile quite firmly…
“Once you’ve done that you’ll be able to bend the tile really easily, to which you can just pull it away. So you just want to make sure it definitely fits before you pull off the backing.”
She continues: “The easiest thing that I can recommend for cutting the tiles out around the bath and sink area is a contour gauge.
“Doug actually did a brilliant job around awkward areas and it was all thanks to this tool, so I highly recommend it.”
