I ordered loads of bits from Shein… but it was a total flop – things got progressively worse and worse
FAST fashion, notorious for using cheap fabrics and often underpaid labour, comes at a price – and unfortunately, one fashion lover learnt this the hard way.
Known for its low prices and relatively speedy delivery, the fast fashion giant, Shein, has become a go-to for many seeking trendy garments and accessories without forking out a fortune.
Whilst there have been numerous customer wins, such as their stunning £17 black dress perfect for all evening occasions, not everyone’s had the best experience with the China-based retailer.
Like with most online fashion retailers, Shein’s products, both clothes and accessories are often known to look nothing like their advertisements online – and unfortunately, no one knows it better than Anni Matt, from Germany.
Looking to replenish her wardrobe, the young dressage rider decided to see what’s new on Shein, where she stumbled across many cute garments.
Seeing the tempting price of these, Anni didn’t think twice and immediately bagged them all – but little did she know she would be in for a big surprise and her shopping haul would end up a total fail.

Mortified, the shopper decided to share the flop on TikTok, demonstrating just how ill-fitting the clothes were, leaving viewers in stitches.
First up in the video was a figure-hugging black mini-dress with frills and cut-out detailing around the waist.
But in real life, the dress looked nothing like it did online, as the top bit just about covered her boobs and she even had to wear a vest underneath to make it more appropriate.
However, as Anni wrote in the caption, things only went from bad to worse – and the next number, a satin cowl neck dress in forest green, attested to that.

In real life, the garment lacked vibrant hues, came with loads of wrinkles all over and the cowl neck was too high, making for a rather unflattering look.
Whilst browsing on the site, she also found a flowy long-sleeve dress with lace detailing on the back.

But just like with the other items in the unsuccessful haul. this too turned out to be a total flop and just about fit her.
It seems as Anni was determined to find summery dresses, as next up on the list was an adorable milkmaid dress in baby blue.
However, after she tried it on for the first time, the fashion lover realised the material was so cheap and see-through, she had to cover her boobs with a bag to ensure no one could see them.

Last up was a pair of regular fit jeans in washed black – but unlike in the advertisement snap online, the cut was more tight that imagined.
”Unbelievable!” the unsatisfied shopper exclaimed.
