The appliance expert explained that streaks on your clothes are a common sign of detergent build up in your washing machine.
She detailed: “Basically those are little flakes of detergent and dirt and grime that are all mixed together in your washing machine, and then eventually they just never get rinsed away.”
Renae told her followers that eventually these flakes deposit themselves on your clothing.

She also informed viewers of further symptoms of detergent build up in your machine.
“It makes your clothes smell musty, it’s not draining properly, it’s not spinning properly. If it goes on for long enough, it can actually eat away at parts and make your washing machine leak,” Renae said.
She advised: “To prevent that from happening, use a washing machine cleaner at least once a month and use less laundry sauce.”
TikTok users took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the cleaning advice.
