PETER KAY has saved thousands making his live show comeback advert.
The savvy comic has revealed he and his mate Matt filmed it from his car on a phone, and he had another hidden in his pants as a microphone.
Peter said of the ad, in which he delivers a roll of carpet to his mum: “He filmed it on his iPhone. It was my car and it was my mum’s house.
“I put an iPhone down my shorts and put it on Voice Memo so I recorded my sound.
“Tesco spent £12million on their Christmas advert, but I’ve done it in ten minutes on two iPhones.
“It were hilarious. We were back home in 20 minutes.

“The carpet I got from Blackburn Road. I said, ‘Can I borrow a roll of carpet? I’ll bring it back in an hour’.”
Peter is embarking on his first stand-up tour in 12 years and yesterday announced a monthly residency at London’s O2 Arena, performing there every month for a year, starting next month.
He cancelled a planned stand-up tour in 2018 due to “unforeseen family circumstances”.
Peter has been practising his set at warm-up shows and has his stage outfit ready too.

He explained to Zoe Ball on Radio 2: “I’ve got a shirt, it’s turquoise. I actually saw a good shirt that I liked and I bought 35, but I’ve changed my mind now.
“So I’m going to have to take them to charity shops and they’re going to be thinking, ‘He’s brought us 35 shirts, is he mad?’ You know how I like to keep up with fashion. I’m another Gok Wan.”
He also said of the outpouring of support for him: “I cannot get my head around it.

“I thought we should have called this tour Peter Who, because I haven’t been around for five years.”
He added: “It’s bad times, people need a laugh.”
