People are only just realising why there are holes at the back of their extension cords and it’s blowing their minds
HAVE you ever looked at your extension cord and wondered why there are two holes on the back of it?
Well, one woman has explained just what they’re there for – and has blown people’s minds in the process.
Maddy Kate took to TikTok to share the revelation, captioning her video: “This is such a game changer for helping to manage plugs in areas where you need to change lots of things eg the TV, computer or bedside table.”
In the video, she said: “Have you ever noticed these two holes at the back of a plug extension?
“You can slot them into screws to hang the extension somewhere convenient on the wall so you don’t have to do this to change or turn a plug on or off.”
She then demonstrated the difficult job of having to reach under and round the television to try and swap out the plugs.

Maddy continued to explain how she makes things even easier by using masking tape to mark each of the plugs.
After writing the name of the plug on the tape – like “Wifi”, “Lamp” and “Television” – she attached the tape to the plug itself and put it back in the wall.
“You can also label each of the plugs so you know exactly what’s what… ” she said.
“it’s so much easier to manage cords behind the TV or computer.”
