Gemma Collins reveals she’s joined Slimming World in desperate bid to lose weight
GEMMA Collins has revealed she has joined Slimming World in a bid to lose weight.
The 42-year-old admitted she worries about her health and is “praying” the latest diet works for her after struggling with her weight for years.
Speaking to The Sun, at the premiere of the McDonald’s Christmas ad, Gemma said: “I have joined Slimming World. I am always up against it because I have got a thyroid problem, polycystic ovary syndrome, insulin problem. You name it.
“I have got such a hormone imbalance. It is a constant battle.
“But at 42 I love myself and if that offends anyone I am sorry but I don’t give a s**t.
“My weight goes up and down, it’s a constant battle for me.

“Do I feel great in myself? Yeah. Am I continuing to try and lose weight, get it down and keep it stable? Yeah. It is something is am always going to struggle with.”
Now Gemma plans to go to Slimming World classes to help shed the pounds and she’s already a huge fan.
“I am loving it,” she said. “Me and my mate went to a class. I picked the most random class.
“They were so welcoming and so nice and when I walked in that room I was just like everybody else. Please god it will work with me.”
But with Christmas coming up Gemma knows there are extra temptations – so is keen to stay vigilant.

She said: “I just don’t want to break it. Christmas is coming up. You eat so much s**t over Christmas, why do it to yourself? Its self-harm in a way.
“It is always a constant battle but I have just learnt to love myself. It’s my health that I worry about. I am always trying to lose weight to get it stable.”
Gemma did however allow herself to try McDonald’s new festive menu and admitted she was gutted she didn’t get the ad campaign.
“I love Maya Jama but that advert should have been mine,” she told us. “My boyfriend always says ‘Gemma when I first started dating you I would open the passenger seat to your door and you would just see boxes of McChicken sandwiches flying out’.”
McDonald’s Christmas advert, titled The List, is an emotive tale showcasing how ‘the little things mean the most’.
The ad kick-starts ‘The Alternative Christmas List’, an initiative from McDonald’s helping to elevate togetherness ahead of Christmas, as part of this year’s #ReindeerReady campaign.
