Now, as eleven famous faces take on the jungle once again, dad-of-one Jake has lifted the lid on the show’s secrets.

From a lack of beauty products, to the unusual rules – here’s what you really want to know about the jungle…

You can’t play games

This year Jill Scott has fashioned herself a football but Jake has revealed that during his time on the show – game playing was banned.

He explained: “I saw that they made a football. I made a chequers board when I was there, we had some cardboard left over from a task we did and I used some coal from the fire and a bit of  a wood that was burnt.

“We started playing a game of chequers but they took it off us and I was gutted because it was giving us something to do.”

No one washes your clothes

The campmates really do have to go back to basics and wash all their own stuff.

Jake decided he’d rather skip the scrubbing telling us: “You have got to wash your clothes yourself. I didn’t wash my clothes once. My socks got so wet, I just put them on the fire every day and just out them back on. I never tied my boots up because I couldn’t be bothered.

“I think I only took one pair two pairs of boxers in and I just I think I just went for a swim in them and that was constantly washing them. My clothes smelt so smoky anyway, and I never had a top on so I didn’t really need to wash that.”

You can’t use your own beauty products

The celebs are very limited on what they can have in the jungle and aren’t even to allowed to bring in their own beauty products.

“You do have deodorant and soap but it’s not got any odour to it,” Jake said.

“You get like white tubes of certain stuff. The toothpaste is unflavoured and there is deodorant and suntan lotion. They give you suntan lotion that’s unscented as well. If you want.”

You have no idea what time it is

The celebs will be completely clueless about what time they are waking and going to bed while in the camp.

Jake told us:  “That’s one of the worst things – you never know what time it is.

“You kind of know what time that your dinner comes. So when the when the food comes, you know, it’s a certain time, so then you kind of try and work from that.

“But I was waking up sometimes, thinking it was late, like seven and it must have been four when I watched it back.”
