Glimpse Of Us singer Joji has landed his first UK top ten album this week with Smithereens – and he’s announced his biggest London show to date in 2023.

Who is JoJi?
Joji – real name George Kusunoki Miller – was born on September 18, 1992 in Osaka, Japan, but moved to the US aged 18.
He first shot to fame on YouTube with his comedy videos and musical parodies, and his video skits helped make the Harlem Shake popular in 2013.
He started the DizastaMusic YouTube channel in 2008, but his videos really took off in 2012 after he created the character ‘Filthy Frank’.
After getting 1m subscribers, Joji ditched the channel and started a new one, TVFilthyFrank, which rose to over 8m subscribers.
He quit comedy in 2017, telling BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac it was down to ‘serious health conditions’.
When did he start his music career?
Joji started making music under the stage name Pink Guy in 2014, alongside his comedy career.
He released his debut studio album, Pink Season, in January 2017 and it went to number 70 in the US.
When did he start using the name Joji?
His first album under the name Joji, Ballads 1, came out in 26 October 2018 – followed by second album Nectar in 25 September 2020.
Diplo, Omar Apollo and Lil Yachy all guested on the album – which went to number 6 in the UK album charts.
Fans became convinced he was dating rapper Doja Cat after she tweeted about him – but neither of the stars ever confirmed the relationship.
His third album, Smithereens, features his most successful single yet, Glimpse Of Us, which charted at number six in the Official UK Top 40 after going viral on TikTok.
When is he coming to the UK?
The Smithereens tour, which has sold over 120,000 tickets, comes to the UK on 17 August, when Joji plays a headline gig at Gunnersbury Park in London.
