Since buying the property for £30,000 in 1987, the 64-year-old has spent decades decorating the home with polka dot floors and striped ceilings.

Mary Rose Young hit headlines in 2020 after sharing her quirky house which she had struggled to sell in 2014.

Mary Rose said buyers were ‘put off’ by the bright walls and patterned décor.

Not wanting to chase her style Mary decided to stay in her home and use it as a workspace and gallery for her pottery business.

Alongside her pottery business Mary decided to let her home out on AirBnB so that others can enjoy her creative home.

She told the Mirror “Families have been staying there over the summer and the kids have loved it,” she said.

Mary Rose is proud of having an unconventional home she said: “Painting rooms in my bright colours inspires me – it’s something I can stand back and look at and keep rather than selling to my customers”.
