Carol Kirkwood left ‘shaking in her shoes’ by BBC Breakfast co-star

BBC Breakfast’s weatherwoman Carol Kirkwood’s was left “shaking in her shoes” as her job came under threat by co-star Ben Thompson.

During the latest edition of BBC Breakfast, the weather presenter appeared as her usual bubbly self to announce the weather report to the viewers.

Ben reassured Carol that he just wanted to prove that he was listening to her and told her that her job was safe[/caption]

But her co-star Ben Thompson decided to give a detailed analysis of the weather which left her “shaking in her shoes”.

He said: “Carol we often say the weather is complicated but so far you’ve told us that temperatures are above average – it’s actually quite warm isn’t it.

“There’s really kind of strong winds, rain that is really unpredictable. There’s a whole lot today isn’t there?”

A rather stunned, Carol responded: “I think you’ve just made me redundant, Ben!”

The surprising on-air moment had everyone in the studio giggling.

Carol continued: “But I’ll press on anyway. Good morning everybody!,” she added before presenting her daily report.

Softening the blow, once the Carol wrapped up her report, Ben made sure to let her know that he did it to show that he was listening to her.

He said: “Carol, thank you. That is a much more technical, specific expert forecast that I could ever hope to give.”

Not fully convinced, Carol responded: “Oh I don’t know.”

The BBC Breakfast anchor clarified: “You’re job is very safe, Carol. Do not worry!”

“I was just proving that I was listening! That’s all,” Ben said.
