Heron Tower ‘on lockdown’ as cops respond to incident at block in City of London
A TOWER block in the City of London is ‘on lockdown’ as cops respond to an ‘incident’.
Reports on Twitter suggest that someone jumped from the tower, but this is yet to be confirmed.
Cops confirmed that they were on the scene and urged pedestrians to stay away from the area.
A Twitter user who claimed to live on the 37th floor of the building said: “Someone jumped from Heron Tower.
“We are on the 37th floor and some people up her saw them fall. Tragic.”
Chief Superintendent Rob Atkin, from the City of London Police, said: “Officers from the City of London Police are currently dealing with at an incident on Houndsditch.

“Police arrived on scene at around 2pm.
“Cordons are currently in place and the public are urged to avoid the area if possible while emergency services remain in attendance.”
The London Ambulance Service have also been approached for comment.
