A MUM who is fighting for her life after a horror Nottingham blaze doesn’t know her little girls are dead, a family friend says.
The fire ripped through the first-floor flat in Clifton at around 3.17am yesterday, killing two young sisters, aged one and three.

Their mum was raced to hospital, where she remains in critical condition in intensive care – unaware of what’s happened to her daughters.
Police and firefighters quickly launched a probe, and today arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
Today, as she lay flowers outside the charred home, a tearful family friend described the tragedy as “heartbreaking”.
She continued: “They are such a lovely family.

“The mum is not very well at all, she is in a really bad way and we’ve heard she has not been told of the loss of her two little girls.
“I can’t think of anything worse to happen particularly at this time of year just before Christmas.
“It really is horrendous, your worst nightmare.”
Emergency services rushed to the early morning inferno and rushed the two girls to hospital after pulling them from the Nottingham flat.

However tragically, despite desperate attempts by medics, the youngsters later died in hospital after suffering from smoke inhalation.
Their mum is still fighting for her life, with family members and friends praying she will pull through.
The mourner added: “I had to come here to drop off some flowers and pay my respects.
“It is very distressing seeing their home. It is gutted.
“The mum, who is in her early 30s, had lived locally for a long time.
“There were problems with her partner who may recently have become an ex but it is not for me to say what they were.
“ I just hope and pray she makes a full recovery but finding about her girls have gone will be unbearable for her.”
A murder probe was launched yesterday after firefighters and cops concluded the blaze was “started deliberately”.

Detectives today arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.
He remains in custody for questioning.
Forensic experts with sniffer dogs were this morning sifting through the wreckage of the council home in Fairisle Close.
Debris were clearly visible through the top broken window and the gutted flat below.
Neighbour in the adjoining flats have been evacuated and the crime scene remains cordoned off.
Two well wishers, who didn’t know the family, left flowers outside with a message “With love and prayers from the church at Clifton.”
One woman said: “This has shocked our small community. Our thoughts are with all affected by this tragedy.”
Nottingham City Homes, which manages the property for the Nottingham City Council, confirmed the mum had lived in the home since 2017.
They added: “We are working with the emergency services to support everyone affected by this tragic incident.
