One food fan named Mitch, known on TikTok as @mealsbymitch, has taken to the video sharing platform to show off his Christmas dinner recipe.

Not only does Mitch’s Christmas dinner look fabulous, but the ingredients cost him just £19 and he’s made enough to fed up to six people.

Mitch has 1.1million followers and 12.6million likes on the social media app and is a self-proclaimed ‘King of Fiver Meals’, so if you are looking to keep the costs down but leave your guests with satisfied bellies, you’ll want to take notes.

In his latest clip, which he uploaded with the caption ‘Budget Christmas Dinner’, Mitch demonstrated how he makes the perfect Christmas dinner, using bargain buys from Aldi.

He said: “With Christmas Day just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about what you’re going to have for your dinner and I’m going to show you that it’s possible to create a fully-loaded dinner to feed five to six people for under £20.

“Don’t feel under pressure to spend money on turkey, have whatever meat you like – I’ve gone with chicken.

“I’ve added all of these veggies and herbs onto a baking tray to make a bass for the gravy. Cover in salt, pepper and oil, get the chicken on top with more salt and pepper.

“In a bowl add butter, rosemary, garlic, thyme and a squeeze of lemon juice. Massage this all over the chicken – inside and out.

“Lemon wedge and rosemary up its crack then into the oven for 50 minutes at 180.

“Full bag of potatoes, peel and cut them up into chunks, two pots – one for the mash and one for the roasties.

“Cold, salted water and bring one of them to the boil. When the spuds are fork tender, drain them off, let them cool.

“Sunflower oil onto a baking tray, into the oven for 15 minutes.

“Salt and pepper on the spuds, then get them into that hot oil – into the oven for half an hour.

“Get the [chicken] onto a plate to rest, I’ve taken the wings off and chuck them into the try. Cover the chicken in foil and set aside.

“Into a bowl add the carrots and parsnips and cover in honey and salt – make sure they’re all nicely coated in the honey.

“Onto a tray and into the oven for 35 minutes.

“Pigs in blankets and stunning into the oven at this point as well.

“Everything in the oven should be finished around the same time.

“Put the roasting tray onto the hob and add some flour. Give it a good stir, add a couple of slices of cooked bacon and a litre of chicken stock. Let this bubble away and reduce down for about half an hour. It’s going to be some of the nicest gravy you’ve ever had.

“Then into a bowl add slightly crushed garlic cloves, rosemary, thyme and oil. Give it a mix. Flip the roast potatoes and cover them in the herbs, back into the oven for half an hour.

“Get the second pot of spuds into a bowl and then in a pan I’ve added chopped up bacon. Get it nice and crispy and set aside.

“Add the brussel sprouts – cook until tender in that bacon fat. Return the bacon and give it all a good toss.

“Last things to cook are the Yorkies and red cabbage to boil.

“Drain the potatoes for mash. For the mash, loads of salt and pepper, butter and horseradish sauce. Mash until nice and smooth.

“My kitchen is like the size of a cupboard so if I can do it, anyone can have a crack at it.

“Sieve off the gravy and just look at this for an absolute spread for £19.

“I honestly feel like I’ve died and gone to heaven”.
