Amanda Owen slammed for ‘trying to speak posh’ on Channel 4’s Farming Lives
AMANDA Owen has come under fire from viewers of Channel 4’s Farming Lives after appearing to speak “posh”.
The Yorkshire Shepherdess won a legion of fans during her time on Our Yorkshire Farm on Channel 5.
Amanda Owen’s Extraordinary Farming Lives aired on More 4 last night and saw her travel to Newport, South Wales, to meet the Rickards family, to learn how they started a modern farm business during the pandemic.
After the first episode, viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts – and there was one thing they weren’t too happy about.
Viewers felt that Amanda was “trying to speak posh” on the new series and slammed her for changing her accent.
One person wrote: ‘Why has Amanda changed her accent!”

Another added: ” Are you trying to speak posh? We love your normal accent.”
A third complained: “Really not feeling Amanda’s posh accent. What’s going on?”
A fourth annoyed viewer penned: “Amanda doesn’t seem her normal self, I think she’s changed her accent too?”
Despite some viewers criticising how Amanda sounded on the show, others simply enjoyed the episode and had nothing but good things to say about it.
One wrote: “what a great show! We loved it x.”
