Love Island fans ‘work out’ Maya Jama’s trick to create more drama during brutal Casa Amor recoupling
LOVE Island fans have credited host Maya Jama for ramping up the drama during this year’s Casa Amor recoupling.
Viewers have congratulated the presenter for making it “one of the best” post-Casa reunions yet.
After strutting into the South African villa in a stunning red dress, Maya was on hand to reunite the Islanders on Thursday night after their biggest test yet.
Maya asked the guys one at a time whether they wanted to stick with their original girl or recouple with a Casa bombshell.
The OG girls then arrived back into the Love Island villa, either single or with a new man on their arm.
Fans were thrilled as Maya then – for the first time – grilled the Islanders about their Casa antics, before standing back and letting the drama kick off.
Only then, once sparks had flown, did she move onto the next couple.
Giving their thoughts on Reddit, one Love Island viewer wrote: “In my opinion (take it as you will), this has to be one of the best Casa recouplings we’ve seen in a while. I think we can owe this to Maya.
“Instead of the drama starting at the end of the recoupling, Maya drawing out each couple one by one was pure genius. This allowed for drama to be unfolded each couple at a time. This is exactly what the show has needed … for a while.”
Another added: “I really appreciated the incorporation of the casa girls throughout the recoupling instead of waiting until the end for a one-off comment. It was more dramatic and more respectful of the Casa islanders.”
And someone else chimed in: “I know it was producer driven, but the little questions she asked really let more drama unfold.”
There was plenty of heartbreak during the Casa Amor recoupling.
Tom Clare, 23, chose to stick Samie Elishi, 22. But Maya then asked Tom if he felt he had remained loyal.
The non-league footballer admitted he had kissed Casa bombshell Lydia Karakyriakou – with Maya grilling all three on the revelation.
Farmer Will Young, 23, also chose to stick with Jessie Wynter, 28, before admitting to straying with Layla Al-Momani.
Again, Maya gently – but persuasively – asked the trio about the awkward situation before moving on with the recoupling.
