I’m a single mom-of-four – my love life is ‘awful,’ some blame my ‘red flags’ but others claim they’re ‘looking for me’
DATING is hard, finding love as a single parent is difficult, and going out when you have several kids is near impossible.
One woman talked about her “awful” love life on TikTok, using her good sense of humor to soften the blow.
She commiserated with other solo moms, but fielded a few entreaties from single dads, too.
In the clip, model and content creator Sofya Brooke (@sofyabrookee) gave viewers an up-to-the-minute report.
She wrote the often-fielded question in the video’s caption: “How’s your dating life?”
While an audio clip of a breaking news report played in the background, Sofya grabbed a ladle from her kitchen.
“Good evening,” she mouthed along, using the ladle as a microphone. “Tonight’s top story: everything is awful.”
The bleak report struck a chord with struggling singletons, including those who had an eye for Sofya.
“Nonexistent over here,” confirmed another mom.
“I haven’t dated in nine years,” someone else chimed in. “Everything’s peaceful.”
Some were astounded to hear that Sofya was struggling.
“Don’t know why, you’re so gorgeous,” a man reassured her. “Pretty sure you can have any man you want.”
“My lord, woman, you are absolutely stunning,” wrote a different man. “All I need is one chance.”
One quoted a song at Sofya, saying, “I spent a lifetime lookin’ for you.”
Another said Sofya won his heart with her excellent utensil prop work.
But some implied the problem must be Sofya herself, like one commenter who said he saw “so many red flags.”
Sofya didn’t deign to respond – she had other interested parties to attend to.
A clever man joked that she must be too busy to date consistently.
“You forgot to call me last night,” he joked, “but I’m gonna overlook it I’ll give you another chance.”
