I have hair like a lion’s mane and then I styled it with a chopstick curler… I went from big cat to poodle real quick
A CURLY-HAIRED woman who tried to style her locks with a chopstick curler was left looking like a “poodle”.
Alyssa Nikaye often wakes up “looking like a lion” thanks to her curl pattern.
But that didn’t stop the 25-year-old from trying to create an even curlier do with a chopstick curler.
It was Alyssa’s second attempt at the style on Tik Tok after her first one went horribly wrong.
She said: “I’m going to try to curl it all the way down but if I burn my fingers and my thumbs, it’s on you.
“Also, my bestie is coming down tonight so let’s hope my hair doesn’t look like s**t.”
However, her first three curls proved that her second efforts may be in vain too.
Each ringlet was half as short as her straight hair was, leaving Alyssa questioning if the final look would be worth the slog of doing chopstick curls.
She gave viewers a tutorial of how she curls each strand but struggled to stop her hair from slipping off the curling wand.
Alyssa said once her head was halfway done: “I really and truly don’t know how I’m supposed to feel about all of this.
“My arms are literally so tired it’s not even funny.”
The content creator was “getting discouraged” by the time she had almost finished.
She continued: “But we are literally on the last layer.
“So we move forward.”
Alyssa asked viewers to be “brutally honest” over the final result and joked that she looked like a Poodle.
She said: “I don’t know if I should hairspray it or put this stuff in first.
“I think I’m gonna hairspray first.
“Now a drop of silk therapy, a little bit of argon oil and I think I’m gonna individually try to take all the curls apart by hand.”
However, just like her first attempt, Alyssa’s hair doubled in volume after she brushed the tight curls out with her hands.
She decided that she would “leave the curly hair to the curly hair queens” after her second hair horror.
People flocked to the comments of her Tik Tok video to share their thoughts, with many finding the process and finished result hilarious.
One laughed: “My recommendation is to get rid of that curling iron.”
Another penned: “That one tiny straight piece is KILLING me.”
