Inside ITV’s Love Island replacement after Maya Jama blundered reality show’s name – and it starts tonight
LOVE Island might now be hibernating for a few months following last night’s final – but there’s a new show ready and waiting to fill its shoes.
Loaded in Paradise (not Paris, as Love Island host accidentally referred to it last night) starts this evening on ITV2.
The action packed reality game show sees party-loving pairs island hop Greece’s Aegean Islands in a race to take control of – and spend – 50,000 euros.
The series starts with five pairs of contestants vying for the single gold card that is loaded with cash to blow on a wild trip.
Only one lucky pair can be in control of it at any time.
Everyone else will be trying to hunt them down and take control of the card, while living on a tiny budget.
The cash card will be loaded up with a fresh injection of dosh daily, so our spenders can live it up and spend, spend, spend.
At the end of each 48-hour chase, a luxury safehouse will open and everyone will reconvene. Dotted across the Aegean islands, these amazing and luxurious hubs will allow viewers to see the drama and fallout of the chase as they all come together.
On the final leg of the chase, there’ll be a big twist as everyone chases the gold card one last time.
Last night Maya Jama seemed to make a major slip-up after handing the Love Island crown to Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan, both 24.
As the deserving couple celebrated their win with their fellow finalists, Maya gave a final closing speech to the camera.
Having teased the programme’s reunion special next week, Maya was quick to inform viewers of a brand new reality show that would be taking Love Island’s time slot following the conclusion of the series.
The programme in question was Loaded in Paradise, a new show that made its debut on the ITVX streaming service last year.
However, show host Maya appeared to get her words in a twist as she called the show Loaded in Paris.
