‘Upset and hurt’ Antoine Griezmann ‘is considering his future with France team’ after captaincy snub
ANTOINE GRIEZMANN is reportedly considering his future with the French national team after being overlooked for the captaincy, according to reports.
The Atletico Madrid forward, 32, won the World Cup with his country in 2018 and helped them reach a second successive final in Qatar.
But now Le Figaro are reporting he is “upset and hurt” by Didier Deschamps’ decision not to name him as his new skipper.
Griezmann has linked up with the national team for their upcoming games against Netherlands and Ireland.
But he was left disappointed when Deschamps informed him that Kylian Mbappe would wear the armband when they host the Dutch on Friday.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward is expected to be installed as France’s new permanent captain.
Hugo Lloris relinquished the role when he retired from international football after the World Cup.
