Beethoven star Nicholle Tom looks unrecognisable 31 years after legendary kids’ movie
SHE rose to fame playing Ryce Newton in the incredibly popular Beethoven franchise.
But these days Nicholle Tom, 44, looks a far cry from the child star who was just 13 when she landed the role of a lifetime.
The family comedy sees the titular mutt being named after he barks along to a piece of music from German composer Ludwig van Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony.
Nicholle’s character is the daughter of the family who own the beloved dog and he helps her and hers siblings overcome difficulties in their lives.
He helps Ryce talk to a boy she has a crush on and the family end up saving the dog who is at risk of being used for unethical animal experiments.
These days Nicholle, who fans also love from 90s sitcom The Nanny, is much blonder but still has the same recognisable smile.
And she’s still regularly on the TV in the US thanks to starring in TV films and shows.
Last year she also appeared on the celebrity edition of Worst Cooks of America.
Speaking in the past about her career, the actress told The Star Scoop: “I’d really like to do a sexy film, where I play a sexy character. I’d like to do a suspense thriller…I’ve always just loved to pretend and create new characters, and I’m a very competitive person.
“I like to challenge myself, and I think that the challenge has been one of the reasons why I’ve really stayed in it. It’s exciting, and sad, it’s everything wrapped into one business. I wouldn’t want to do anything else with my life.”
