I’m an elegance expert & there are five nail designs you should avoid because they’re so tacky – glitter is a big no-no
AN ELEGANCE expert has revealed the designs you should avoid at all costs if you don’t want to look cheap and tacky.
The trendy designs are far from perfect according to Antonia Higham, who ranked them on her TikTok account @antoniahighamx.
It’s bad news if you love a bit of bling, since glitter and any other mega sparkly designs are a huge no-no.
And forget about forking out for cute nail art, it’s a total waste of time and money, the elegance expert revealed.
So wave goodbye to your Easter-themed nails and intricate designs if you want to stick to the pro’s rules.
The cute designs might be fun for a moment but when you’ve still got snowflakes and reindeers on your nails in February they might be more trashy than classy.
The third design you should avoid can be classy if you do it right, but make this major mistake and you’ll be in tacky territory.
Thick French tips don’t ooze elegance in the way they should, at least according to Antonia who prefers a shorter and more chic style.
Colours are also important no matter what design you go for, and “bright artificial colours” are the worst for the elegance pro.
Neon greens, oranges and pinks might look lush with a summer tan but something more muted is the better option for Antonia.
But her fifth and final rule is the one most people weren’t sure about with some even swearing to ignore the advice.
“Huge long nails” should be avoided at all costs, no matter the shape, design or colour – they’re all awful.
Not everyone agreed with Antonia’s elegance advice as some people slammed her for being “boring.”
“So elegance ladies are basically old and boring,” one commented.
A second wrote: “Oh my, there is only one I will ever do, a think French line, very classy, tasteful and elegant. The others no way!!”
“I do a think French or light, neutral colour. Sometimes in fall I splurge to a light brown,” another confessed.
